Dear Choices In Learning Families:
Welcome to the 2010 - 2011 school year! I am so thrilled to assume the role of principal and instructional leader at CIL. As most of you are aware, I have spent the past two and one-half years in the role of assistant principal at the school and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We can be proud of what we have achieved at CIL in the past and this excellence in education will continue into our future. The hard work that the students, parents, and staff have put forth has paid off - CIL received a Florida School Grade of "A" and met the Federal NCLB mandates for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in all areas. Our school is so successful because a staff of dedicated men and women have common goals to do what is best for students and to educate them to the highest extent possible. We are always looking for the best ways to achieve these goals, and we can't accomplish them without your help and support! There are many ways to be involved as a parent/guardian at CIL, and I hope that you will feel welcome as you get involved at the school. As a team, we can accomplish our goals!
It is our intent to deliver the very best instructional program possible to our students. Our curriculum is aligned with state standards and offers a variety of enrichment opportunities. To remain current in best practices, staff members attend professional development and serve in leadership roles within the school. Grade level teams meet frequently to monitor student progress and identify strategies to improve student achievement.
I am looking forward to my responsibilities as principal of Choices In Learning! My goal as principal is to provide each student with a positive, fun, challenging educational experience throughout the academic year. The staff and I will encourage each student to work to his/her fullest potential. Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you this year as we continue to strive for excellence! It is an honor and privilege to be of service to an outstanding faculty and the wonderful parents and students that make up the Choices In Learning family!
Respectfully,
Janet Kearney
Principal
